Dissolved oxygen in water is an important factor affecting the growth rate and feed coefficient of cultured fish. Dissolved oxygen management is considered to be the central part of aquaculture water quality management.
Aquaculture pond requires fresh water, rich in dissolved oxygen, dissolved oxygen in 5 mg/l above is the most ideal, if the dissolved oxygen in each liter of water is less than 1 mg, fish will "float head". The transparency is controlled at about 30 cm, the depth of the pond is 0.8 ~1.2 m (shallow water warming) in the early stage, and 1.0 ~2.0 m or higher in the middle and later stage (but not more than 3.5 m). The pool water had better be kept in 1.5 ~2.0 m all the year round, especially in the high temperature season, the water level must be kept high (deep water cooling).
