Dissolved oxygen management in aquaculture

In the process of aquaculture, the excreta and inputs of the aquaculture object are left in the water, which will have a great impact on the water. If it is not well controlled, it will cause pollution.

The ph of water is a factor that greatly affects aquatic life.  In acidic water, the blood of fish is acidic and its oxygen carrying capacity decreases, causing hypoxia;  Alkaline water is too strong, corrosive gill tissue, weaken the ability of fish to absorb oxygen from the water, even if the water is rich in oxygen will also appear hypoxia.

"Fish can't live without water."  Good water quality is necessary for the healthy growth of fish.  Dissolved oxygen in water is an important factor affecting the growth rate and feed coefficient of cultured fish.  Dissolved oxygen management is considered to be the central part of aquaculture water quality management.

Aquaculture pond requires fresh water, rich in dissolved oxygen, dissolved oxygen in 5 mg/l above is the most ideal, if the dissolved oxygen in each liter of water is less than 1 mg, fish will "float head".  The transparency is controlled at about 30 cm, the depth of the pond is 0.8 ~1.2 m (shallow water warming) in the early stage, and 1.0 ~2.0 m or higher in the middle and later stage (but not more than 3.5 m). The pool water had better be kept in 1.5 ~2.0 m all the year round, especially in the high temperature season, the water level must be kept high (deep water cooling).  Depending on the water quality of the pond, the water is changed once a month conditionally, and the water is changed more than 20 cm each time.  Usually pay attention to prevent hypoxia floating head, timely boot oxygen.
