Distinction between aerobic and anaerobic bacteria
According to the relationship between microorganisms and oxygen, they can be roughly divided into aerobic microorganisms (aerobic bacteria) and anaerobic microorganisms (anaerobic bacteria), and further subdivided into five categories:
Obligate aerobic bacteria such as Bacillus, nitrifying bacteria, etc. Most fungi and most bacteria and actinomycetes are obligate aerobic bacteria.
Facultative anaerobe, this kind of microorganism grows mainly under aerobic condition, but also under anaerobic condition, sometimes also called "facultative aerobic bacteria", many yeasts are facultative anaerobe.
Microaerobic bacteria, such as vibrio, can only grow normally under the condition of low oxygen partial pressure.
Short for aerobic anaerobes, these microorganisms can live anaerobic fermentation in the presence of molecular oxygen. They do not need any oxygen to grow, but molecular oxygen is not harmful to them.
There are general anaerobe and strict anaerobe (obligate anaerobe), obligate anaerobe in anaerobic conditions than in aerobic environment growth, this kind of microorganism even in the short term contact with molecular oxygen will inhibit its activity or even death, the energy required for life activities through fermentation and anaerobic respiration and other ways to provide;
Common anaerobic bacteria have bifidobacteria and photosynthetic bacteria.
