Proper use of the fish pond aerator can not only greatly reduce the use cost of the aerator, but also effectively improve the water quality of the fish pond and reduce or prevent the occurrence of fish diseases. At the same time, it can effectively reduce the bait coefficient of fish feed and improve the breeding profit. Recently, the author found in some fish farms that many fish farmers did not understand the oxygen increasing principle of the aerator and adopted some incorrect use methods, which not only failed to achieve the oxygen increasing effect, but also caused serious consequences of hypoxia in the fish pond.

The aerator is generally started in two time periods, with completely different operating principles and effects.

1. It can be started about one hour before the anoxia at night, so that the fish can smoothly pass through the anoxia period at night and play a role in saving the fish.

2. It is started when the dissolved oxygen in the pool water is extremely rich at noon on a sunny day. After the roots blower is started, the oxygen is released through the tank bottom tube and the aeration disks, so that the organic matter at the bottom of the tank (including feces, residual bait, biological corpses, etc.) can be decomposed in advance to prevent hypoxia caused by decomposition at night.

The principle of the former is mechanical oxygenation, that is, the oxygen in the air and the upper water surface is dissolved in the whole water body by using gas to stir the water body; The latter provides biological oxygen. Most of the dissolved oxygen water in the fish pond comes from the oxygen produced by the photosynthesis of phytoplankton. The photosynthesis of phytoplankton can only be produced under the condition of sunshine. The stronger the light, the more oxygen will be produced. Therefore, we should use the direct sunlight at noon and start the aerator when the photosynthesis is most intense to integrate the pool water rich in dissolved oxygen on the surface and the oxygen at the bottom of the pool, decompose the organic matter in advance, and prevent the organic matter from decomposing to produce harmful substances (including ammonia, nitrite, hydrogen sulfide, methane, etc.) when there is no oxygen at night.

Some farmers do not understand the oxygen increasing principle of the aerator, resulting in wrong use. The main phenomena are as follows:

1、 It is not turned on during the day, and it is turned on for a long time at night. Many farmers think that there is no oxygen shortage in the fish pond during the day, and they do not need to start the machine. They only recognize the role of mechanical oxygenation, and ignore the most important role of biological oxygenation. However, good use of biological oxygenation can often save a lot of costs by greatly reducing the time to start the oxygenator. For example, if the aerator is opened for 1-3 hours at noon on a sunny day, it can reduce the number of hours at night, or even more than ten hours. This method of startup can generally save 100-500 yuan per mu per year.

2、 In rainy days, turn on the aerator during the day. Many farmers think that the oxygen in the fish pond is insufficient on rainy days, so they should turn on the aerator. In fact, this is a very wrong boot method. The correct method is to prohibit startup during rainy days, because although photosynthesis is poor in rainy days, the oxygenation effect is much stronger than that of mechanical oxygenation. This small amount of oxygen should be stored on the surface of the fish pond so that the fish can use it at night. If the machine is turned on in rainy days, the only dissolved oxygen will be stirred to the bottom of the tank to be used by organic matters. At night, the dissolved oxygen in the tank water cannot be sufficiently supplemented, which will easily lead to hypoxia.

3、 On sunny days, turn on the aerator after 4 a.m. and 4 p.m. Some sunny mornings also open the oxygen dispenser, thinking that this can increase oxygen. In fact, this is the wrong way to start the machine. Because the mechanical oxygenation effect of the aerator is far lower than the biological oxygenation effect, the fish should be stopped immediately as long as they leave the aerator in the morning. Some farmers think that the fish pond has a large stocking density and the water quality is not good. They turn on the aerator before dark. In fact, as long as the fish pond is not close to hypoxia from 4:00 pm to night, it is not necessary to start the machine, because the start-up at this time will consume the dissolved oxygen on the surface of the pond water early and accelerate the hypoxia at night.

4、 Do not turn on the machine in sunny days. Some farmers think that the wind has the effect of increasing oxygen, and they can not start the machine at noon on a sunny day. In fact, this is not completely accurate. The wind has the function of increasing oxygen, but the convection effect on the pool water is not strong. It is difficult for the surface oxygen rich pool water to flow to the bottom of the pool. Only when the temperature drops suddenly can the surface water effectively flow to the bottom of the pool. Therefore, in addition to this situation, the machine should be turned on at noon on a sunny day whether there is wind or not.

5、 In the first half of the year, the fish pond is not floating and does not start. Many farmers think that the water temperature from April to June is low, the fish body is small, and the machine can not be started without floating head. In fact, as long as the fish eat a lot, defecate a lot, and the water quality is fat, it should be turned on at noon on a sunny day. This can delay the season of fish floating head and reduce the degree of floating head. At the same time, it can fertilize the pool water in advance and delay the deterioration of water quality.

In short, the correct starting method is: start the machine for 1-3 hours at noon on a sunny day (about 1 hour for about 3 mu, about 2 hours for about 10 mu, and about 3 hours for more than 10 mu); At night, start the machine about 1 hour before the normal hypoxia time and stop the machine immediately when the fish leave the aerator.

Special attention: when there is no sun in rainy days, the machine cannot be turned on during the day; Do not start the fish pond at night without oxygen; In the first half of the year, the fish should not be started before they do not eat a lot of food and the water quality is not too fat. After starting, the fish should not be stopped until they leave the aerator. After the sun comes out, the fish should be stopped immediately when they leave the aerator; The machine should be turned on after dosing in sunny days; The machine will not be turned on during the day of fertilizing.
